Who uses LinkedIn ? What is the profile of the LinkedIn user?
With more than 590 million members and a presence in more than 200 countries, LinkedIn is today the benchmark professional social network for professionals around the world.
Also read the LinkedIn key figures .
Established in 2003 in the United States, 70% of however, users are located outside the country.
In France, the network accounts for 16 million of members.
The spectacular development of LinkedIn surprises us more.
The network has everything to attract the many entrepreneurs and professionals by enabling them, in particular, to develop their digital presence and obtain many opportunities.
This is one of the main reasons that push members to use LinkedIn as a partner tool for their activity or their career.
On LinkedIn, there are only professionals. However, there is a great diversity of profiles and users. This is what we will see.
Who are the members of LinkedIn?
If, in the past, the worlds of business, management and entrepreneurship were (unfortunately) mostly a man’s business, today women are determined to make themselves known and boost their results.
LinkedIn offers a great diversity in its members since the network has 56% men and 44% women. With a few percentages ready, we can say that there are almost as many men as there are women on LinkedIn.
LinkedIn is also a mix at the level of age.
If the average age is 44, we denote all the same 46 million students registered on the platform. They too have understood all the interest that LinkedIn could have for their career professional !
Entrepreneurs and company employees still remain in the majority on LinkedIn with 30 million companies registered in 2019.
Which professional sectors are most represented on LinkedIn?
There are professions more present than others on LinkedIn.
A painter will find less interest in having a LinkedIn account and will prefer to turn to social networks like Instagram, more visual (whatever…).
The same goes for a baker, for whom a Facebook or Google My Business page will be more effective than a perfect LinkedIn profile .
As a reminder, LinkedIn is THE place to be for social selling LinkedIn BtoB . In other words, for business services. It is less studied to directly reach BtoC consumers (whatever … I have in mind examples of companies that have reached LinkedIn users through inbound marketing and viral content…).
Be present on LinkedIn ™ , allows you to find, for the most part, BtoB professionals.
